The hugely successful Food For Thought launch event held at Ritual Roasters in Cheltenham, gave the packed venue invaluable insights into what buyers are looking for when selecting local suppliers, helping them to thrive, not just survive!
Food for Thought, a new countywide community interest company (CIC), created a unique opportunity for Gloucestershire-based food and drink businesses to connect with buyers from Your Coop Food (part of the Midcounties Coop), Creed Foodservice, Freemans Event Partners and Gloucester Services.
The Meet The Buyer event welcomed over 60 local business owners who heard firsthand what the industry experts look for when selecting new local suppliers, and learnt how to position products to scale up and meet demand, etc.
Working in partnership with Made in Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire County Council, and the Growth Hub network, Food for Thought is made up of local business owners, organisations, and experts who are working together to build a vibrant and engaged community that champions positive trade and a sustainable and circular economy for local businesses.
Nicole Archer, Director of Food For Thought commented: “The Food For Thought launch event in partnership with The Growth Hub network and Made in Gloucestershire was the first in a calendar of events, to support food and drink producers in the county with bespoke, informative sessions featuring high-profile speakers, industry experts and those commissioning, supplying and purchasing local produce.”
